Things are not as easy as they seem when organizing a home, especially when you do it without setting up a systematic way to finish it. So before organizing a home, you have to organize a system first. Do not hesitate to grab a pen and a piece of clean paper and write the obstacles and hazards that you visually see in a particular room. That will be your problem page. And eventually cross them out each time you are able to put the items to their respective places. At the end of the day, you will be surprised as to the amount of items you have organized. Yes, organizing a home can be really fulfilling when done systematically. Many of these clutter and garbage could have been avoided if some things are set up in the first place.

First off, have you noticed that normally, rooms do not have trash bins? For some, other than it is difficult to fins something that will match the interior motif, if stuck with food, there is a tendency that it may emit foul odor. Resolution? Design your own wastebasket or trash bin. Make something out of a paint can or a plastic box. The smell? Put a lid on the trash. And to avoid the stench, throw that trash daily.

Designate a corner as the play room. Toys tend to find their way everywhere. And you will notice this when you step on a Lego in the kitchen. Corners provide two or sometimes three walls to contain the toys, and you are only left with one wall to guard. It is best if you involve the whole family in the home organizing activities. In fact, to make it more fun, you can form teams and stake claim on a particular room to organize. For instance, mother and son can team up and de-clutter the bathroom. And dad and daughter might want to tackle the kitchen challenge. At the end of the day, compare notes and brag on the things that you have achieved. It is a very healthy way to bond and do things as a family. If you have an odd man out, he/she can bathe the dog or clean the dog house, or the tool shed for that matter.

If everybody in the family is busy, that cannot be used as an excuse not to organize your home, because if you do not start now, you will never be able to start it anymore. And an disorganized home is a source of stress and anxiety. What you have to do is schedule the organizing activity. Nobody can be that busy. If it means giving up a regimen, give it up. Organizing a home will not take weeks. You can allot an hour or two everyday to get the organizing activity kick in.
