You can call it declutter day that service day when you have a specific part of your house to clean up, organize and rearrange in a way that will make it more comfortable and pleasant as well. Some others would call it a general clean-up day. Although there is a fine line between cleaning up and decluttering, it would be better to have it called that way.
Declutter day is specifically done every week in a designated area. Most housekeepers would like to make a plan out of it. In this manner, you will know which tools to prepare each declutter day, depending on the area of the house that you are to work on.
You can spend more declutter days for a particular area where there are a lot of gadgets, tools and other stuffs lying around because there’s a greater chance for these areas to be cluttered than those that don’t have much items in them.
An example of these would be the kitchen. It’s more likely that you’ll find many stored utensils there that are not often used. You can empty out some old but still useful drawers with junk items and label them accordingly for storing equipment that are seasonal in use.
You should spend a declutter day when you are more comfortable with the schedule; and if you are planning to let some friends join find a common schedule among yourselves as well. Make sure that you are in a hurry when you do it because that might just defeat the purpose of doing it.
So when is the time to spend a declutter day? It can be anytime, maybe even everyday if you want. You have to keep in mind that organizing is a continuous process. So to have less hectic declutter days, you need to have declutter routines every day as well. You’ll soon realize how comfortable it is to be at home when you have kept it tidy and organized.
